The MATLAB codebase was developed 10+ years ago provide optical system performance modeling and simulation support for AFRL and DoD customers. The codes incorporate a text-file description of the various optical system parameters including telescope, mirrors, fore-optics, surface, and detector. LISA employs its MATLAB scheduler to perform multi-threaded calculations of target to telescope aperture path radiometry and near-field stray light quantities. The calculations predict system SNR and integration time for a set of input options. This allows a system engineer to make performance predictions for a system based upon widely available parameters and/or project specific detailed design parameters. This internship project will support further capability of this code baseline and modernize it along the way.
