Summary:
The NAM Tech performs duties such as: prepare the patient for a variety of treatment procedures, assist the physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in performing all treatment procedures on the patient, prepare materials and equipment for treatment and have them ready for the provider's use, take/process x-rays and assist the provider with taking impressions and photographs as needed of patients (surgical records). May perform other related work to include, but not limited to, maintaining lab area and equipment, making appliance follow-ups, answer phone calls for doctors and surgeons who need assistance in clinic, pour up impressions in lab with stone and mount them on articulator as needed for fabrication of surgical splints or any other appliances. According to treatment plan made, start taping if necessary, then fabricate NAM (nasal alveolar molding) external or intraoral with nasal arm. Be able to operate scanner and 3-D printer if one is available.
• ccasionally help with equipment and other duties around the office. The NAM Tech needs to work well with children which may include children with behavioral and/or developmental disorders.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.Completion of pre-surgical orthopedics training (NAM).1 year clinical experience working with a surgeon making NAM preferred.Bilingual (preferred but not required)Experience with pediatrics
