Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide management with data, in graphic and narrative form, necessary to make qualitative decisions about equipment, test bench, SE, material condition, readiness, utilization, maintenance workload, or failure trends.
Review data products for accuracy, completeness, and content.
Conduct and coordinate MDS/NALCOMIS training of maintenance department personnel in all facets of documentation and use of available data products.
Corresponds with the SSCA to resolve maintenance operating system problems.
Assign, review and maintain NALCOMIS SMQ’s, and provide required reports to management.
Maintain MDS/NALCOMIS report files for the department per CNAF 4790.2 Series.
Ensure an adequate supply of source documentation is on hand to support the MDS and NALCOMIS during system downtime.
Ensure local data is reported up-line to the top-tier and central repository (DECKPLATE).
Keep informed of current efforts and issues with the MDS used by the activity by referencing the SSCA customer support site (https://sailor.nmci.navy.mil).
Initiate trouble calls with SSCA and JDRS. Trouble calls can be submitted via the SSCA web site.
Review NALCOMIS reports to identify trends.
Use the MDS/NALCOMIS to assist in identifying possible deficiencies in technical training or documentation procedures.
Monitor the assignment of the third position of work center codes.
Collect, maintain, and distribute in narrative, tabular, chart, or graph form the data required to monitor, plan, schedule, and control the maintenance effort.
Develop charts, graphs, and displays for presentation.
Assist supervisory personnel in determining the specific goals for new types of data reports required for managing the maintenance effort.
Identify and apply analytical techniques to areas of material deficiencies, high man-hour consumption, or other pertinent trends.
Compiles Monthly Maintenance Plan inputs and submit to management for review/approval.
Submits CDRLs and, special reports in a timely manner.
Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
Perform other reasonable related incidental duties when directed.
Know location of safety data sheet (SDS) and applicable safety precautions.
May be required to perform scheduled inventories.
Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
Other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
This classification activity is usually accomplished in an office environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities.
May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.
The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to changes in temperature and weather.
May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
Completion of Naval Aviation NALCOMIS System Analyst Refresher Course (Course C-555-0055).
Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Must have a valid State Driver’s License.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CAC Card.
Certifications/Licensing as required by the Program Training and Certification Manual.
Certifications/Licensing as required by the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance within 6 months of hire.
Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
