What would I be doing?

　　The Mutuel Clerk greets and interacts with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; sells wagers and cashes winning tickets; maintains, secures and balances all cash and cash equivalents; provides administrative support to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.

　　Responsibilities

　　The Mutuel Clerk delivers superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way by ensuring every interaction includes Service Standards (Look sharp, smile and greet the guest; Be friendly, polite and use courteous language; Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service and then some; Always find solutions to guests’ problems; Use the guest’s name when appropriate; Thank the guest and invite him or her back.); and work harmoniously with fellow team members.

　　Assumes responsibility for greeting and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; sells wagers and cashes winning tickets; and maintains, secures and balances all cash and cash equivalents.

　　The Mutuel Clerk processes, cashes, redeem, verifies and sells pari-mutuel tickets for various types of bets; assists guests with questions and ticket redemption; and may explain wager techniques to guests in a neutral manner.

　　Handles and secures all money banks to ensure the proper balancing and transaction verification through the sales system; prepares and verifies all closing paperwork; corrects financial deficiencies as needed.

　　The Mutuel Clerk notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner; maintains the confidentiality of winning tickets to ensure guest privacy.

　　Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the fields of banking and cashiering.

　　Collect, disburse and count various forms of monies; utilize a keyboard, 10-key and any other cashiering systems; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and explain policies and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.

　　The Mutuel Clerk performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

　　What are we looking for?

　　EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

　　High School Diploma or GED,

　　Six (6) months of cash handling

　　Racing experience a plus

　　Manual Calculation ability

　　ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

　　Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses.

　　Must successfully pass background check

　　Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening

　　Must be eighteen (18) years of age

　　Must be willing to work weekends nights, and holidays if needed
