Job Purpose or Objective(s): Museum Archives Intern will assist the Archivist with a variety of projects to organize and categorize paper and photographic materials held in the collections.
Our Summer Intern Program is an 8-week temporary, paid program that runs from June 3rd - July 26th, 2024. This position pays $13 per hour. Housing available.
Internships are only open to Choctaw Nation tribal members currently enrolled in college.
Primary Tasks:
Inventorying unprocessed photographs and recording event name, date, and place within Excel.
Processing clippings by subject and integrating into the Vertical File.
Helping pull materials for researchers.
Assist in archiving digital materials.
Data Entry.
Monitoring the research room while in use.
Digitization projects.
Other projects as needed.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Minimum
Choctaw CDIB cardholder or Choctaw Tribal Member
Currently attending an accredited college, university or post-secondary educational institution.
Intermediate skills in Excel
Attention to detail/highly organized
Data Entry/Word Processing skills
