Responsibilities

　　This is a primarily mobile position. The Mobile Phlebotomy Technician (MPT) will:

　　•In addition to the Patient Service Technician PST Float basic functions, the lead will assist supervisors with the implementation of SOPs for phlebotomy services in accordance with KSC guidelines.

　　•Communicate professionally with providers, nurses, supervisors, and patients to resolve or refer problems. Prepare and assist in the preparation of problem documentation and report critical issues as they occur.

　　•Assist with periodic inventory counts, report shortages and problems to supervisors as they occur.

　　•With appropriate training, act as mentor and resource for the new employees, assisting with transition into the PSC work environment and the familiarity with established procedures.

　　•Travel to designated sites and perform lead duties when needed.

　　Salary Range: $41,880 - $51,725 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

　　Qualifications

　　Education

　　Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

　　Certificate of completion from an accredited phlebotomy program or 2 additional years of directly related experience as a phlebotomist (5 total) may substitute for accredited phlebotomy program.

　　Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field.

　　Experience

　　Required: 3 years of directly related experience as phlebotomist in a patient service center, clinic, or hospital setting.

　　1 year of waived testing and specimen processing experience in clinical setting

　　Preferred: 5+ years of direct experience working in a Patient Service Center, clinic, or hospital setting

　　License(s)

　　Required: Valid driver’s license

　　Must obtain BLS through American Heart Association within 30 days of employment

　　Preferred: Certified Phlebotomist or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

　　Member of an accredited phlebotomy National organization

　　Special Skills

　　Required: Those hired into this position must complete the KSC review/skill validation program within 90 days of hire.

　　Able to use related equipment.

　　Experience with computers and Windows-based software.

　　Ability to practice good customer service principles and practices.

　　Preferred: Bi-lingual or multi-lingual

　　Ability to use Microsoft software applications including Word and Excel.

　　Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.

　　Prior EPIC experience

　　Other

　　Required: Ability to speak, write and understand English.

　　Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

　　Acceptable driving record

　　Reliable transportation

　　Valid vehicle insurance

　　Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

　　Travel to additional sites when needed
