WHAT YOU\'LL BRING
BA/BS/AS/Technical or vocational degree in science-related field and 1year related experience in custodial and ecological land management orsimilar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with natural systems.
Experience in ecological land management principles.
Experience operating and or repairing various types of equipment andmachinery.
Must have a valid driver\'s license. Please indicate this in yourresume.
In addition, the following skills and/or experiences would be an assetfor this role. For applicants without these, please view these as areasor skillsets where you will have opportunities for growth andprofessional development:
Knowledge of wetland/grassland ecology of the Prairie Pothole Region,habitat management techniques, and knowledge of migratory birds andlocal wildlife.
Working knowledge of GIS programs.
Working knowledge of common software applications (e.g.; Word, Excel,Web browsers.)
Ability to operate ATVs/UTVs and 4x4 pickup trucks with trailers.
Ability to plan, administer and record or present results of work-team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments coming frommultiple sources.
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experienceappreciated.
Experience managing volunteers or entry level staff.
Ability to recognize plant and animal species to complete surveys.
Ability to complete tasks independently with respect to timelines.
Fluent in English (written and verbal.)

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
This is full-time hourly position (35-40 hours/week) with the option towork up to 40 hours with the expectation that it might be neccesary towork 40 hours or more on occasion (a few times per year) to meet thegoals of the position. Some evening and weekend hours may be required towork with landowners when they are available and when conditions areconducive for activities.
The primary workstation will be with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Servicein Columbia, SD and/or The Nature Conservancy\'s Ordway Prairie Preservein Leola, SD. Shared housing may be available on the Ordway Preserve.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position isgenerally within the range of \$40,000-\$44,000 for annual base salary.This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is theUSA. Where a successful candidate\'s actual pay will fall within thisrange will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, thecandidate\'s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay rangein the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied toUSA pay or ranges.
