Additional Requirements for Craftworkers:
Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required)
May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities)
Primary function of a Millwright: Supervise and give instruction to 8-15 craft people who may include 1-2 leadmen, per Crowder Construction Company standards in safety, quality, and overall project requirements. Give instruction to and assist in the execution of work per drawings, specifications and details as required by project documents. Responsible for on-time placement, at the work site, of safety items, materials, process equipment, and tools or equipment to perform work. Layout/check layout per dimensions, elevations, location of all work being installed to insure accuracy per the contract documents. Foremen are responsible to insure that all materials used, for all work being performed, meet the project specifications. Manage, track, and report the utilization of equipment, materials, and man hours on a daily/weekly basis and execute the plan within the budget established for the work being performed.
Typical Duties include but are not limited to:
Safety
Facilitate, execute, promote, and educate on the implementation and usage of the Pre Task Plan (PTP).
Must stress the importance and the expectations of Crowder Construction Company on how “Safety First” is not just a slogan but a requirement for continued employment.
Audit PTPs during the work day and make changes as required.
Manage and execute all work exhibiting high moral values, unquestionable ethics, and good work habits to ensure that the Crowder Mission Statement is being adhered to.
Planning, scheduling and coordinating work
Participate in the pre-mobilization planning of the overall project detail schedule, site specific safety execution plan, and manpower requirements with the entire construction team (if time and individual schedules allow).
Listen to and follow instruction from superintendent in charge of overall work plan which may include changes to the project schedule sequences, staffing issues, material deliverable issues, change in scope issues, etc.
Communicate instructions from superintendent to his/her team.
Capable of performing detailed material/equipment takeoffs for estimating and executing work. Material/equipment takeoffs should be detailed enough to become a purchase order Requisition which is submitted to the superintendent/project manager for writing of the purchase order.
Read, understand, and execute work from all drawings and specifications.
Layout work per drawings and specifications to facilitate each days work activities.
Monitor all work being installed to assure it meets Crowder and project quality standards as specified.
Understand and execute work per the 3-week look ahead schedule and coordinate work activities within allocated man hours.
Document and communicate accurate labor hours and cost code to his/her direct report superintendent on a daily/weekly basis.
Communicate progress, safety and quality issues, delays, material and equipment needs on a daily basis to his/her direct superintendent by using the Foremen Daily Report form.
Supervision, Leadership, Managing, and Mentoring
Assist project manager and/or superintendent in the management of subcontractors.
Communicate back to direct report superintendent the strengths and weaknesses of team.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
Documented proof of 5-8 years of Journeyman and/or Leadman experience.
Have an understanding of Crowder’s Safety First Philosophy and demonstrate it through his/her actions and the acceptance of all Crowder Safety Policies and Procedures.
OSHA 30 Hour Training
Maintain an understanding of and demonstrate Crowder’s Quality Installation Standards and the QA/QC Processes and Procedures through his/her actions.
Proficient in reading and understanding all drawings, specifications, and all project requirements.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Crowder standards for Driver’s.
