　　We are seeking resumes for a Manager, Health & Safetyin our Counce, TN facility

　　Function and Scope

　　The purpose of this position is to plan, develop and implement safety and health programs and policies and work with employees to implement accident prevention methods.

　　Duties and Responsibilities

　　Develop and implement safety policies to reduce occupational injuries and illnesses.

　　Monitor and develop controls for workplace chemicals to ensure a healthful workplace.

　　Develop and present safety and health training programs to increase understanding of workforce in safety hazard control and health risks.

　　Act as the mill’s emergency preparedness coordinator to ensure adequate systems are in place to respond to and manage mill emergencies quickly and appropriately.

　　Ensure compliance with applicable safety and health standards.

　　Recognize hazardous conditions and unsafe acts and their cause and make appropriate corrective measures.

　　Be familiar with and able to use and calibrate safety related equipment, i.e., noise level meters, light meter, anemometer, etc.

　　Work with Mill wide safety committees and other teams.

　　Qualifications

　　Education and Experience

　　BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.

　　3 years of experience in the safety field in an industrial setting preferred.

　　Knowledge/Competencies

　　Knowledge of OSHA standards, Workers Comp Laws, EPA regulations and industrial hygiene practices. Oral and written communication skills are very important.

　　Capable of preparing and presenting training sessions to all levels of mill employees on topics related to occupational safety and health.
