JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Premium Distinctive Brands is a member of the Premium Distinctive brand team. The scope of this role is centered around driving a unique and differentiated end-to-end brand experience for the target customers for the Collection brands, by partnering with a diverse group of disciplines within the organization. Within this framework, the role is a key contributor toward the supporting the strategic direction and growth of the Collection brands and working with key resources and business partners to drive execution of strategic plans and to ensure business objectives are met.
The Manager, Premium Distinctive Brands will focus on:
Collaborating and supporting the creation of the long-term strategic direction of the brand’s overall positioning, core values, and the brand voice.
Executing the brand priorities by collaborating with cross-functional resources in support of the business model & driving brand performance.
Collaborating with the global brand marketing team to ensure brand marketing initiatives are represented and executed against in a timely manner.
Establishing key relationships with internal and external resources to maximize the full potential of Marriott’s independent Collections brands.
Engaging with property and continent teams to drive the brand experience globally.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
High school diplomaor equivalent and 5+years’ experience in brand management, business, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional areaOR
4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major and 2+ years’ experience in the business, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area
Demonstrated ability to deliver results under challenging conditions
Education and Experience Preferred
Experience with global brands and travel industry
Project management experience
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Brand Strategy & Execution
Actively participates in the execution of a compelling and differentiated brand strategy, leveraging the brands' consumer,competitive, and other stakeholder profiles and needs
Supports the execution of strategic brandbusiness plans for the brands,inclusive of a viable economicstrategy, brand positioning, value proposition definition, competitive strategies (for product, service, talent & culture, growth, demand generation)
Supports and executes new initiatives and projects for the brand to pull through strategy for the Collection brands
Supports implementation on key brand initiatives, sets and monitors success measures
Serves as customeradvocate by helping resources understand target consumerneeds, primarily being the independent hotel owner / operator, internal sales and operations teams, and third-party consultants
Ensures hotels that need help get assistance through appropriate third parties, and Marriott resources where applicable
Partners with the marketing organization on the development of customer facing brand communications, brand voice / collateral development, photography, etc.
Supports brand approach to experiential marketing and global brand partnerships with the brand marketing team and discipline experts to drive revenue and PR buzz
Collaborates with brand marketing team as they implement marketing strategies grounded in brand positioning and personality, with the goal of increasing brand awareness and enhancing performance
Supports key resources across Marriott to ensure issue resolution for owners, franchisees, and managers
Champions the independence of Collections owners and franchisees within Marriott to ensure that brand and business decisionsdo not result in encroachment on the independence of Collections hotels
Creates project plans, guides, and engages respective project teams throughout the project from kick off to implementation
Business Model & Performance
Act as Brand Champion to stakeholders - owners, franchisees, customers, executives and associate within HQ and market. Builds strong relationships with continent teams and hotels to ensurethe brand culture comes to lifeon property, drivingpull-through of the brand promise
Educates and communicate on brand strategy, framework, positioning, voice and strategic pillars, competitive environment
Supports the execution of communication strategies associated with launching tactics/deliverables in supportof the brand strategies and stated performance goals
Represents brand in external forums(e.g.,: GM conferences, owner's meetings, Franchise Advisory Committee meetings, etc.) by reviewing / evolving brand standards and operations practices
Aligns market, operational and owner/franchise activities to business and research insights
Supports plans for under-performing hotels from a marketing activation standpoint.
