Performs a variety of direct clinical duties in the outpatient setting as well as in various professional organizational on-site settings. These include, but are not limited to application of individual, couples, family, group, emergency triage, and organizational/corporate wellness treatment modalities. Performs thorough and accurate psychosocial evaluations, initial assessments, developing and implementing master treatment plans, providing timely documentation of treatment and providing high quality, professional, competent, compassionate, and outcome-based behavioral and mental health treatment, as well as for ensuring appropriate discharge planning/aftercare referrals and performing various types of community outreach. Facilitates wellness throughout the organization and assisting other departments and program areas as directed. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation. Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field of mental health. Serves in an on-call rotation for crisis intervention needs. Mental Health Therapist Skills and Requirements:
Master's degree in social work, professional counseling or equivalent from a nationally recognized accredited institution of higher learning. Master's degree must be Pennsylvania equivalent with a minimum of 60 credits. Copy of degree and transcripts of all academic degree completion must be provided. If licensed, must provide proof of current and valid licensing in Pennsylvania as an LSW, LCSW, or LPC; the license must be listed as being in good standing with all applicable the regulatory and licensing bodies. If unlicensed, must complete supervision and have intent to become licensed in Pennsylvania as an LSW, LCSW or LPC. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and staff. Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage his/her time, prioritize the multiple demands of the position and can accurately follow instructions. Ability to conduct clinical research and stay updated on current best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction. Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with clients of all ages. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines. Must pass all applicable and required background checks and clearances, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance as well as passes a drug screen upon hire and thereafter as required. This includes a criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). Additionally, if a newly hired employee has not been a resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the last 2 years, an additional criminal history report must be obtained from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) through the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Must not be listed on any state, Federal, or local service provider exclusion lists. Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and successfully complete a driving history record check. Reliable transportation to travel between Johnstown and Somerset.
