  Job ID359402 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyStudent Services Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9703AC Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job The Men's Engagement Coordinator will create and implement programs, trainings, and outreach to the University of Minnesota community focused on engaging men and male-identified individuals as well as all genders, around topics of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, sexual harassment, masculinity, and gender equity. This position will also be responsible for developing and implementing an intervention program for college students found responsible for sexual misconduct: STARRSA or something similar. Additional topics to be addressed in these efforts include social justice, intersectional identities, sexual orientation, gender-based violence, and influencing social norms. The Aurora Center's Men's Engagement Initiative focuses on four areas: 1) Providing awareness and services to male-identified victim/survivors; 2) Engaging men and male-identified folx as allies; 3) Educating and encouraging peer-to-peer accountability by examining masculinity issues, communication, social norms, and relationships; and 4) Implementing STARRSA Active Psychoeducation program The Men's Engagement Coordinator is a full time (100% FTE) Professional and Academic (P&A) position at The Aurora Center. This position reports to the Associate Director of The Aurora Center. Applications for this position will be reviewed until filled. This position will be a hybrid position. Salary: $52,000-55,000 Detailed job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Outreach and Education: (40%) * Co-develop, coordinate, and implement education/training for Greek life, Gopher athletic sports, and campus military groups regarding sexual misconduct awareness, prevention, intervention, bystander education, intersectional identities and sexual misconduct, and social environment shaping (BEST Model). * Co-use, maintain, and update existing education curriculum to continue to reflect the issues and its effectiveness on the college campus. * Plan, develop, and implement programming, education/trainings, and outreach efforts around Men's Engagement topics such as masculinity, gender equity, gender-based violence, healthy relationships, and related topics. * Establish, advise, and support a Men's Engagement student/peer group. * Engage and expand campus partnerships around the role of gender identity in areas including but not limited to fraternity life, athletics, military programs, STEM programs, international communities, etc. * Co-serve as a trainer of trainers for staff and volunteers. * Develop, coordinate, and implement education programs and events (i.e. speakers, film showings, Spring Jam participation, and awareness campaigns for Sexual Assault Awareness Month & Domestic Violence Awareness Month.) * Serve as liaison and provide coordination with other prevention and safety efforts on appropriate committees. * Assist in recruiting and training new Violence Prevention Educators and prevention student staff. * Stay current on violence prevention, gender equity, masculinity, and peer education literature to integrate best practices in TAC educational programming. Sexual Misconduct Intervention Program for Respondents: (30%) * Develop, coordinate, and implement informal processes that repairs the harm done to victims/survivors of sexual misconduct and provide education and information to respondents. * Plan, develop, and implement a sexual misconduct intervention program curriculum for respondents using STARRSA Active Psychoeducation model. * Develop, coordinate, implement, host, and train partner offices to provide community supervision/accountability meetings with respondents and behavioral contracts when necessary. * Create educational workshops for respondents about power/control, entitlement, boundaries, equity, healthy relationships, consent, gender roles, communi ation, masculinity, mindfulness, impact of harm, accountability, etc. * Create informal options for victim/survivors and respondents of marginalized/underserved communities who can't/won't formally access sexual misconduct systems of accountability. * Develop, coordinate, and implement restorative justice circle processes for communities dealing with sexual misconduct. * Partner with and provide referrals to clinical resources for respondents such as Student Counseling Services, Boynton Mental Health, Acacia, Project Pathfinder, UMN Center for Sexuality. etc * Create and document services provided to and demographics of respondents in database. Administrative: (20%) *Coordinate, schedule, and organize sexual misconduct prevention workshop requests from Greek Life, Gopher Athletics, campus military groups, and around the topic of masculinity. * Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate practices for Violence Prevention Educators (VPEs) to prepare for each upcoming presentation. * Collaborate with TAC staff in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating student staff and volunteers. * Develop an end of the year report on accomplishments and recommendations for the Men's Engagement program and other program stakeholders. Client Services: (10%) * Serve as back-up staff to provide assistance to drop-in clients during business hours * Serve as staff on call backup on rotation with other Aurora staff * Facilitate male-identified victim/survivor support group * Demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries in working with volunteers and clients. * Maintain a strict policy of confidentiality. * Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate. Report to: * Associate Director of The Aurora Center for Advocacy & Education The Department: The Aurora Center for Advocacy and Education, a unit within the Office for Student Affairs, offers services for students, faculty and staff regarding sexual assault, relationship violence, sexual harassment, and stalking through a 24-hour helpline and weekly 8-4:30 walk-in services as well as training and education for peer leaders and the University Community. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in gender studies, sociology, social work, public health, education, social sciences, psychology, or related to gender work, plus at least four years of relevant experience. * At least one year of experience planning, conducting, and evaluating education and training programs in a large community. * At least one year working with students in a student conduct role, teaching, and/or working with respondents of sexual misconduct or batterer's intervention program. * Practical experience and theoretical knowledge about masculinity and gender equity, as well as an understanding of an oppression-based model of violence against genders. * Completion of 40 hour State Certified Sexual Assault Training Program. * Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff and community people from diverse cultural and educational...
