Job Summary
The Extension Program Coordinator [EPC] Community Health will supportand assist in promoting Extension related programs for adults and youthrelated to general Community Health
Duties & Responsibilities
Community Health specific duties and responsibilities:
Assist with developing marketing plans and goals to promote theExtension community health programs to new partners.
Networks and/or collaborates with appropriate designated communityorganizations and groups to assess needs and develop educationalactivities to address needs.
Creates and maintains online registrations for Extension programs.
Assist in coordinating logistics and activities with the health teamand unit teams, special events funded by Extension, i.e., seminars,conferences, fairs, and special training.
Maintain a database of new or potential partners.
Maintains and/or assists with compiling necessary records/documentsto complete required reports i.e., impact reports, activity reports,and attendance sheets.
Acts as a liaison between Extension, key coalitions, and other keycommunity-based organizations.
Comply with Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity policies andguidelines in all University of Illinois Extension work aspects.
Co-facilitate community health programs as requested.
General Extension responsibilities:
Maintains local files of all marketing materials used to promoteExtension programs.
Prepares program reports and updates for the county director andcouncil.
Assist in securing funds to develop and deliver programs to meet theneeds of the communities.
Assist in establishing and communicating safety guidelines forprogram participants in all Extension workshops.
Assist in carrying out grants received for Extension programs.
Perform other related duties that are within this job category asassigned.
Participates in staff development and professional developmentopportunities as prescribed to maintain professional competence,pending funding. These will include local, regional, and state.
Complies with all University of Illinois Extension and USDA policiesand guidelines in all aspects of Extension work; assists Unit staffwith data collection for Affirmative Action, Gender, and Targetedreports.
Additional Physical Demands
To perform the functions of this position, the employee will be requiredto perform work both within an office and outsid in the communitiesserved and must be able to travel from one location to the other in atimely fashion. The employee is responsible for securing personaltransportation. A valid driver\'s license is preferred. Some work willbe required during evenings and/or weekends. When working, the employeemay be exposed to various environmental factors, including but limitedto, hot or cold weather, exposure to noise and allergens, and unevenground. In performing the functions of this position, the employee mayalso be subjected to various mental and physical demands as well, whichinclude without limitation traveling to and performing work at differentlocations, lifting, and moving items that may weigh up to forty (40)pounds, and twisting, pushing and pulling movements. Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or GED
Any one or any combination that equals four (4) years/ 48 months ofresponsible volunteer or professional work experience in coordinatingeducational and/or community programs or activities
