Job Description

　　The OCI Cache with Redis team develops and operates a fast-growing, high-demand fully managed distributed caching platform in dozens of regions across the globe.

　　As a Member of Technical Staff you will own the software design and development for major components OCI Cache with Redis. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broadly distributed system. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. The ideal candidate has experience with Redis specifically or distributed caching in general, has hands-on operations experience, and can troubleshoot complex technical issues in a high-stakes environment while keeping their cool.

　　Candidate Profile:

　　• 1–5+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.

　　• Strong knowledge Java

　　• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.

　　• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.

　　• Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.

　　• Strong understanding of Linux

　　• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

　　• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.

　　Responsibilities

　　As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. You will:

　　Work with design leads to implement new features and improvements

　　Debug operational issues and suggest fixes

　　Assist customers onboarding to the service as needed

　　Perform on-call operations duties on a rotating basis

　　Hiring Range: from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

　　Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
