About Medical Receptionist

Description We are seeking a Medical Receptionist for our healthcare facility located in Oakdale, California. This role involves taking on reception duties in the Human Resources department, attending to the telephones, scheduling patients, filing, and handling requests. The Medical Receptionist will also greet and register outpatients and inpatients, maintaining professionalism in all verbal interactions.

Responsibilities:

• Attend to telephones, ensuring clear and professional communication with patients, family members, physician office staff, hospital personnel, and related outside agencies.

• Schedule patients for appointments, effectively managing the facility's calendar.

• Handle filing tasks efficiently, keeping patient and facility records organized.

• Respond to requests from patients and staff promptly and professionally.

• Greet and pre-admit patients upon arrival at the facility.

• Register outpatients and inpatients, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all verbal interactions.

• Use medical software such as Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, and Medisoft to manage patient data and scheduling.

• Perform other clerical duties as needed to support the operation of the clinic.

• Use Microsoft Excel for creating charts and graphs as required.

• Handle billing functions and insurance matters when necessary.

• Manage the multi-line phone system and scheduling of appointments efficiently.

This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or similar role within the healthcare industry.

• Proficiency in using medical software such as Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, and Medisoft.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, including creating charts and graphs.

• Familiarity with billing functions within a healthcare setting.

• Knowledge of chiropractic procedures and clinical trial operations.

• Experience in handling insurance matters related to patient care.

• Proven ability to manage a multi-line phone system.

• Experience in scheduling appointments and managing schedules for healthcare professionals.

• Understanding of privacy regulations in the healthcare industry.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Higher educational qualifications in medical administration would be considered an advantage.
