Description** This position is only for students interested in the Lab Funding Healthcare Futures Program and working in the Blood Bank - earn up to $15KBlood Bank/Transfusion Medicine is AABB Accredited. It supports Level 1 Trauma Centers for Adults and Pediatric patients as well as Transplant (solid organ and stem cell), Seidman Cancer Center Inpatient and Ambulatory Infusion Care, Apheresis Center, Sickle Cell Program, Maternal Fetal Medicine and multiple Intensive Care units.Individuals in this role:Perform sample processing of all sample typesSet up of inpatient and outpatient orders with minimal error rate.Ordering/receiving samples in soft for processing and the DEM (ER) deskSoarian registration of patients for shell visitsRun blood gassesLoad the analyzers and the automation lineTube track samplesAssist with misc. lab tasks (cleaning, filing, unboxing and processing shipments)AccessioningAliquotingAnswering phonesPlease note: Responsibilities vary by lab and shift workedEqual Opportunity Employer -- minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
