Position Overview:
The Clerk/Receptionist is responsible for the performance of clerical tasks that support the provision of efficient care to the patient. The Clerk/Receptionist is responsible for answering telephones, greeting and assisting patients, physicians, and guests, responding to and processing information requests, and other delegated tasks that assist the department.
The Clerk/Receptionist is responsible for the prompt, courteous, and professional service to the patients, which includes all tasks related to the check-in process as well as informing patients of the status of their appointment.
The Clerk/Receptionist performs other tasks as delegated by the department leadership to support the interdisciplinary care team.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Other: Related course work in business skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Prior office and scheduling experience, preferably within a hospital setting.
Prior experience answering multiple telephone lines, preferably in a medical setting.
Basic data/computer processing.
Prior Radiology clerical experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of basic medical terminology is desired.
Intermediate data/computer processing and skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Knowledge of the use of business office machines, i.e., typewriter, copy machines, FAX machines, computer, laser printer.

Pay Range is $28.29 to $35.53 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
