We are seeking a Medical CommunicationsSpecialist to: * Triage incoming calls for urgent and emergent patienttransfers from the Access Center for interfacility flights. Log time andnature of each call. * Triage incoming calls and direct radio requestsfor scene flights from the regional 911 center, county sheriffdepartments, or emergency response agencies including police and firedepartments and EMS units. * Collect available patient medicalinformation from referring facilities for all patients being transportedto University Hospital and American Family Children\'s Hospital. Relaythis information to the Emergency Department, Admissions Office, and/orthe receiving unit. * Continuously monitor telephones, radios,emergency alert scanner, and the intrahospital encrypted radio in effortto be made aware of scene flights as early as possible. * Establishappropriate radio and landline communications with requesting agenciesto secure landing zone instructions. Relay initial patient medicalreport to the flight crew.
