JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Provides support with the daily activities ofa medical office by performing the following duties and other duties asassigned. Neurosurgery Clinic, Janesville WI (MBB) 80 Hours/2 WeeksMonday - Friday 8am-5pm, No Weekends Responsibilities Rooms patients,collects assessment data and prepares patient according to specificneed. Assists in examination, treatment and other clinic procedures.Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects.Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller toappropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response bymedical personnel. Schedules appointments and enters appointment dateand time into computerized scheduler. Conducts reminder calls to allpatients. Greet and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.Registers patients by verifying that patient\'s record is up to date andaccurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient\'schart. Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and otherphysician offices. Collects payment from patients and issues receipt.Prepares and maintains patient charts. Maintains and orders supplies.Education and Experience Graduate of a medical assistant programaccredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs(CAAHEP), or graduate of a medical assistant program in a postsecondaryschool or college that has institutional accreditation by a regionalaccrediting commission or by a national accrediting organizationapproved by the U.S. Department of Education, Experience in clinicsetting preferred. Certification/Licensure Required current CMAcertification through the AAMA (American Association of MedicalAssistants) or RMA certification through the AMT (American MedicalTechnologists) or CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) throughNHA (National Healthcareer Association) that have also completed theeducation requirements. Approved CPR or BLS certification requiredwithin 90 days. Medication injection training and pharmacology is arequired competency to perform medication administration.
