This individual is responsiblefor pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assistingwith procedures, discharge instructions and other duties as assigned.The medical assistant is instrumental in helping the patient feel atease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient\'svisit. The medical assistant may be required to cross train and float asneeded to maintain optimal clinic operations. Other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: One to two years of clinical experience ispreferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High school diploma or equivalentrequired. In addition, individuals must meet one (1) of the followingcombinations of education and experience: A.) A graduate of a CAAHEP orABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma orCertificate). B.) A graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistantprogram (Associate, diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsmantraining. In addition to education, one (1) year of formal on the jobMedical Assistant experience preferred. C.) Currently possess and are ingood standing with at least one of the following credentials: a.)Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)c.) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE) d.) CCMACertified Clinical Medical Assistant. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: AmericanHeart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider(BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.Certification through the AAMA and/or an equal certification board orcertification is preferred.
