The Medical Support Specialist (MSS) is responsible forperforming routine medical and testing procedures under directsupervision of the treating clinician as well as supports in other areasof the facility as needed including registration and referralmanagement. Responsibilities Perform Department ofTransportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing Preparepatients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and anyrequired or requested ancillary testing including but not limited tovaccines and injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing andrespirator fit testing Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep,mono, glucose, etc.) Assist providers during examination and treatmentResponsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered bytreating clinician as well as triaging emergent patients as neededPrepare and assist clinician with procedure set up and injury care Applybandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating clinicianDispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician inaccordance with state regulations Complete quality assurance activitieson equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used inthe center Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock examrooms Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, includingcalibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy andprocedures Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioningproperly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expectedIn partnership with center leadership, assist...
