Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the design, procurement, and delivery of equipment to build a High-Energy Long-Pulse (HE-LP) laser system at the Matter in Extreme Conditions Upgrade project for SLAC at Stanford University.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead a cross-disciplinary team through the final design and delivery of the HE-LP laser

Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure the project remains cost-effective.

Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to keep the project on track.

Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and address any project changes.

Provide regular updates to stakeholders on budget, schedule, and earned value metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability for all aspects of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a technical field.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical or scientific project management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a technical or RD environment.

Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.).

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
