To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of spacecraft mechanisms and delivery of safe, reliable, ready to install hardware that meets requirements, while doing so within theallocatedcost and schedule requirements.Special Mentions* Relocation provided* Occasional travel expected* Interviews will include a technical assessment* Multiple positions availableResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Design mechanisms for space flight which may include landing gear, engine gimbaling mechanisms, docking systems, solar and radiator deployment systems, communication gimbals, hatches, and cargo offloading systems.Participate in the entire design cycle of flight hardware, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification.Generate component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware.Participate in subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis.Develop component specifications and manage suppliers.Leverage experience and engineering judgement to quickly design and produce non-flight, proof of concept hardware for fast-moving research and development projectsParticipate in a small, agile team to create and adapt to frequently shifting priorities.Minimum QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in EngineeringLevel 4 Requirement: 8+ years of experienceRecent experience designing aerospace or equivalent type mechanical system elements within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehiclesStrong mechanical design, integration, and mechanism analysis skills using 3D modeling and simulation tools (CREO preferred).Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) and performing tolerance stacksKnowledge of manufacturing, assembly, integration, and qualification testingProficient in technical writing, communicating sophisticated ideas clearly and conciselyExperience specifying and justifying margins and test sequences for aerospace systemsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred QualificationsMaster of Science Degree in EngineeringExperience with Matlab/SimulinkExperience with multibody simulation tools (Simscape, Adams)Experience writing technical specifications and Statements of Work (SOW)Experience with technical management of suppliers.Compensation range for on site WA applicants is$136,467---$191,053.80 USD
