　　Salary Range: $90,990 - $160,220 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.).

　　Project OverviewJoin us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

　　Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

　　Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

　　ResponsibilitiesManage discipline work process execution and assure technical adequacy in accordance with company, contract, and industry codes and standards.

　　Provide direction to discipline work group consistent with project/program.

　　Develop and revise Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and mechanical system formal calculations.

　　Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.

　　Support discipline design reviews to verify that requirements and expectations for design products are met.

　　Support the PEM/PE/EGS on interfaces with DOE, DNFSB, WDOH, and Ecology.

　　Complete assigned engineering tasks within budget/schedule and support identification and development of engineering trends and BCPs in discipline area.

　　Support and implement the Nuclear Safety Quality Culture in day-to-day work activities.

　　Qualifications and SkillsBasic Qualifications

　　Level I - BS degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with 6 years of progressive related experience. In lieu of education, 12 years of progressive related experience is acceptable.

　　Level II - BS degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with 9 years of progressive related experience. In lieu of education, 15 years of progressive related experience is acceptable.

　　Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

　　Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge).

　　Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

　　Minimum QualificationsRelated experience includes but is not limited to experience in performing calculations and designs, including documentation, related to hydraulics, equipment sizing, and overall system design for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities.

　　Requires extensive technical knowledge and understanding of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials, applications of computer software to engineering problems to ensure the design is cost effective, in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental regulations, customer requirements and engineering codes and standards.

　　Must have working knowledge of Bechtel Engineering procedures and BPS.

　　Nuclear experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.

　　Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential.

　　Must have or be capable of obtaining an EIT/PE within one year of hire.

　　Preferred QualificationsProfessional Registration in Mechanical, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering.

　　Knowledge of Bechtel corporate guides and standards.
