Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.As part of a small, hard-working, and accomplished team of experts you will lead the design, development, and test of fluid systems for various spaceflight systems. You will share toward the team's impact on all aspects of fluid systems design, operation, and project management. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and mechanical systems hardware.Role will have a strong emphasis on supporting integration activities.Specifically identifying available work and resolving roadblocks to facilitate integration tasks.Release, and support of engineering artifacts across the product life cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and operations. Implements' operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provides technical information.Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.Qualifications:B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering2+ years of recent experience designing aerospace or equivalent type mechanical system elements within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehiclesStrong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D modeling toolsExperience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionKnowledge of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control relative to tubes/piping and machined componentsConfirmed understanding of materials and treatmentsExperience and ability to work independently on rapid development programsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:Experience in primary flight control actuator designExperience in aerospace deployable devices design such as doors, landing gear or sensorsExperience in aerospace hydraulic system component design or system architecture designExperience in spacecraft separation systems designExperience in Creo (Pro-E)Experience in structural FEA using ANSYS, NASTRAN or similar toolsExperience leading at least 1 multi-person development project, leading requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, cost, and communicationsCompensation range for on site WA applicants is$89,820---$125,748 USDInclusivity StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
