JOB REQUIREMENTS: MISSION As a Mechanical Engineer at Gilson, you willdesign, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance mechanicalsolutions. Assignments will be broad in nature, requiring initiative,originality and ingenuity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Analyzeproject requirements, system architecture and subsystem design anddetermine hardware implementation plans Participate in evaluatingarchitectural tradeoffs to optimize project, product and opportunitycosts Work with Product Marketing to develop plans for learning throughvoice-of-the-customer Work with various agencies to meet compliancerequirements and approvals Participate in risk analysis and developmitigation plans as required Provide estimates of time and materialsDevelop and verify designs against implementation and risk mitigationplans Partner with suppliers to ensure high-quality prototypes andreleases Work with Production and Customer Support to successfullyrelease products for production and Quality Assurance Mentor and directthe activities of more junior engineers and third-party partners Otherduties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Bachelor of Science inMechanical Engineering or equivalent WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years ofrelevant work experience SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE Full product life cycleexperience including bringing product to market Experience intechnologies required for lab automation Experience in the design ofhigh precision mechanical parts and assemblies Experience usingSolidwWorks (preferred) or similar solid modeling software Experiencewith machining/metal fabrication (plate, tube, sheet metal, extrusions,castings, etc.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Provensuccess in a team setting PHYSICAL ABILITY Good or corrected vision Ableto lift 30lbs minimum OTHER Eagerness to learn and the ability embracechange ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRE Experience inhigh-reliability industry, such as medical device, military, aerospace,automotive, or telecommunications Familiarity withmanufacturing/production processes Experience with reliabilityengineering Proficiency in French Gilson, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity /Affirmative Action employer.
