Job Title:              Mechanical Design Engineer

　　SUMMARY:   Mechanical Design Engineers develop or redesign new or existing company products.  Individuals in this position work from order requirements or other specifications and arrive at final design details utilizing CAD software and engineering calculations as required. Mechanical Design Engineers are capable of working independently, working on longer term projects, conducting testing, troubleshooting, and leading project execution as needed.

　　*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following.   Other duties may be assigned. 

　　Design company products using SolidWorks or other engineering software.  Create engineering drawings for use in proposals and manufacturing.Create bills of material and routings for use in cost estimates and manufacturingCreate owner's manuals, test procedures, and other engineering deliverables as requiredPerform engineering computations for sizing equipment componentsProvide technical support to shop personnel during manufacturingProvide field support of Company products as requiredPerform Lead Engineer role for assigned sales orders including customer interaction, vendor communication, and project management as required.Execute testing, take data, and communicate findingsCreate, manage, and or work to project schedules to hit deadlinesOccasional travel to customer sites, often with little notice, including weekends and holidays in some cases

　　SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

　　This job has no direct supervisory responsibility although individuals in this position may be required to provide direction to CAD Designers who are supporting the assigned work.  This position may also require guiding cross functional peers through portions of the New Product Development process.

　　Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD softwareAbility to provide leadership as is required to execute projects on time, with quality Ability to perform fundamental engineering calculations employing software or by handAbility to team with other engineering, sales and production personnel to meet customers' needs.Experience in Parcel/Distribution/E-Commerce conveyor system and equipment design is preferred.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

　　BSME, BSMET, relevant 4 year engineering degree or an Associate's degree in engineering field plus (4) year's relative experience is required.   3-5 years of industry experience is preferred.

　　LANGUAGE SKILLS:

　　Verbal and written fluency in English.  Strong communication skills.  Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings / electrical schematics. 

　　MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:                                

　　Proficient in algebra and geometry as is required to solve engineering problems.
