Candidates should possess a strong independent work ethic, be a self-starter, and possess basic knowledge of light to medium duty gas and diesel engines for emergency vehicles. 　　· Valid driver’s license.

　　· Proof of citizenship or immigration status.

　　· Successful completion of EHP drug screen and physical.

　　· Successful completion of criminal background check.

　　· Must, at a minimum, possess and maintain State of Michigan Automotive Mechanic certification in the following categories:

　　Engine Repair Frontend, Suspension & Steering Systems Brakes & Braking System· Must furnish own tools.

　　· Strong background in electrical, air conditioning, heating, braking, and power train systems including diagnosis and repair.
