Mechanic OverviewThe Mechanic will perform general vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensure all vehicles/trailers are up to date on inspection, and organize company fleet/equipment. The primary focus is on preventative maintenance. The fleet includes pickup trucks, work trucks, dump truck, tractor and trailer, bull dozer, excavators, backhoe, skid steers, flat and box trailers, generators, light plants, and man lifts. * *
Essential Functions
Service and maintain our fleet of vehicles and equipment.Inspect and diagnose vehicles and equipment for faults or repair and take necessary corrective action to maintain great working condition of equipment. Manage and plan work to accomplish all tasks without having direct supervision on all matters.Understand, communicate, and maintain a schedule with coworkers and supervision regarding vehicle maintenance and repair.Price shop parts and order as needed for maintenance and repairs. Supervisor approval needed for purchases over $1,500.?Maintain a clean and safe shop and work environment.Organize and stock shelves in shop area.Maintain appropriate logs and vehicle/equipment files.Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.Required Competencies (the ability to do something successfully or efficiently)

Equipment diagnostics - troubleshoot a problem to identify the cause. Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge/skills related to servicing and maintaining vehicles and equipment. Ability to service and maintain passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment, man lifts, small tools, and trailers.Required Qualifications
At least 18 years old.A valid CDL Class A driver's license.10 years of experience servicing equipment like our fleet. Equipment diagnostics and problem-solving skills.
