Description:
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors and is responsible for ensuring a positive experience in order to increase patient satisfaction and the overall consumer experience.
Perform patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance.
Answers incoming phone calls and directs appropriately.
Coordinates, registers and schedules appointments according to office guideline and utilizes answering service at appropriate times and retrieves messages from answering service and responds appropriately; confirms next day appointment as well as Missed Appointment Policy and sends out the appropriate communications.
Copy/scan patient access related hardcopy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
Monitors patient waiting time and maintains patient flow.
Educates and instructs patients of upcoming procedures and tests under the nurse’s guidelines.
Conduct all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Perform duties involving record filing and retrieval and assisting with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records.
Maintains accurate balance of petty cash.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education for Staff Job Levels High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Licensure and Certifications N/A
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire. · Computer experience required. · Other trainings may be required upon hire.
PREFERRED Qualifications · Prefer at least one year of experience in the medical office setting. · Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
