About the Role
The duties of the Material Planner will include continuous communication with domestic and international suppliers as well as organizing the shipments of parts with pre-assigned transport companies and interaction with custom authorities. The Material Planner is responsible for scheduling and expediting supplied material delivery for all inbound materials required in production adhering to plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.
Your Responsibilities
Plan, Forecast, Schedule and Release supplied material demands to meet our production requirements
Use ERP System (SAP) as the Primary means of creating, monitoring and communicating schedules, inventory quantities, releases and forecasts
Point of contact for domestic and international suppliers
Responsible for empties and return shipments to the vendors
Follow-up on delivery timing and expedite the material as needed through line delivery
Initiate and follow up with vendors, carriers and customs authorities - daily, hourly, off shifts as required
Who we are looking for
Logistics/Supply Chain Diploma/Degree preferred or 3+ years’ experience working with Suppliers/Inventory Control/ Customer Service or a combination of education and experience
Ability to multi-task/prioritize work with little supervision
Excellent mathematical skills, good computer skills and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)
Your preferred qualifications
Automotive experience highly desired

Experience with SAP R/3 preferred
