　　Summary

　　Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Materials and Process Technology Technician who will be reporting to the Materials and Process Technology (M&PT) Metallurgical Lab Manager. As an M&PT Technician you will be focusing on testing and analysis of engineered materials, engineered material surfaces and coatings, and chemical processes, and their uses in Collins’ products, in order to evaluate compliance to specifications and other requirements.

　　Work shift: Afternoon shift ( Second shift - 5 x 8 , Monday – Friday from 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm)

　　Work Type: Onsite at Oakville Facility

　　Main Responsibilities

　　Following standard procedures and comparing to specification requirements, perform with moderate supervision material and chemical testing within the materials laboratory including test sample organization, collection, extraction, preparation, test equipment operation, testing and evaluation, and results analysis and reporting.

　　Perform material failure analysis and aid in preparing failure reports.

　　Participate in multi-disciplinary problem-solving teams, performing laboratory testing and troubleshooting and supporting root-cause-and-corrective-action processes.

　　Provide timely updates to communicate results, analysis, and conclusions to the M&PT teams as well as Operations and other internal customers.

　　Support continuous improvement of standard work, procedures, and specifications within the materials lab.

　　Assist in cross-orienting, cross-training, assigning, and checking the work of team members when required, to help them diagnose and solve problems and enhance their capabilities.

　　Perform all work safely and with a continuous improvement mentality, committing to RTX and Collins values.

　　Perform other duties as prescribed by the organization.

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　Diploma degree or 2-year post-secondary training as Technologist or equivalent.

　　A minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience in testing and analysis related to Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or another related field.

　　Experience with inspection and testing methods and with measuring tools.

　　Familiar with general chemical testing methods.

　　Eligible to work in Canada; Successful candidates must meet all requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　Experience in the manufacturing and/or aerospace industry.

　　Experience following standard procedures and comparing to specification requirements.

　　Direct experience performing metrology, metallography, and microscopy.

　　Direct experience using microscopes, calipers, mounting and polishing equipment, verniers and calipers.

　　Direct experience performing chemical testing.

　　Direct experience using a Scanning Electron Microscope.

　　Direct experience with chemical processes such as electroplating.
