We are seeking a M&P or Mechanical engineering Lead to come in and help with the materials department. Tier 1 manufacturer in the industry, large manufacturing facility with room for growth and opportunity to work on high sought out work within DoD space.
Description/Responsibilities:
Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, nonmetallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowable, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.
Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
Utilize Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools to evaluate customer designs and process concepts and assist in manufacturing process.
Use Lean/Six Sigma Tools to predict and improve process yield. Examples of these tools include Statistical Process Control, Variable Control Matrix, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
Utilize Practical Problem-Solving techniques such as A3, 8D, Root Cause Corrective Action, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, and Parato Analysis to determine the origin of a failure, its impact to overall business, and determine containment and countermeasure actions to eliminate recurrence of non conformances.
Position could end up being in a lead role, individual needs to come from similar background with multiple years of experience. Mechanical Aptitude would be a suitable background within composites/aerospace.
