Position Summary
The Master Teacher will direct the development and implementation of theclassroom environment in the facilitation of the cognitive,social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development ofthe children within the program. This position will provide supervision andmentorship to teaching team members by modeling best practices in an inclusivesetting based on the mission and philosophy of the Center in coordination withCenter's Leadership and Administrative Teams.
The incumbent will direct the development of a classroom plan forcurriculum, individual child planning, and family communication. It is theduty of the Master Teacher to work in collaboration with fellow teachers andadministrative staff to carry out all responsibilities to the best of theirability and exercise their best judgement as they prioritize, delegate andexecute tasks.
With updates to processes at the University of Denver these positions will nolonger require reapplication on a yearly basis by current employees alreadyholding the role. Employment can be renewed yearly, but no longer requiresthe employee to reapply for the position unless otherwise told so.
Essential Functions
Curriculum and Planning
Develop, implement and serve as a mentor for curriculum aligned withFisher's approach to early childhood education and specifically identifiedcurricula resources.Apply content from Fisher sponsored trainings and resources available on theR Drive to support implementation of curricula.Demonstrate knowledge of content and developmental areas by creatingexperiences that engage children in purposeful and meaningful learning relatedto key curriculum concepts.Inform curriculum and planning through use of the child assessment processand data.Documentation and Assessment
Manage and implement a progress monitoring system, using a strengths-basedapproach including child observation and assessment.Health and Safety
Lead the establishment and maintenance of a safe and healthy environment forall children.Collaboration and Teaming
Cultivate and contribute to a professional and collaborative atmosphere inthe classroom and program as a whole.
Train and mentor classroom ATs and DSS to engage in effectiveproblem-solving, and formal and informal communication with families,colleagues and community partners.Family

Bachelor's degree in ECE or a related field.
2-5 years of experience working with children.Willingness to work with children in an inclusive environment.Must be able to push, pull, or lift 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications
4 or more years classroom experience in a NAEYC accredited early childhoodgroup setting.
