Position Summary and Objectives
The Master Production Planner is responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while balancing Supply Chain and Operations business objectives. Master Planner leads and executes the SIOP Process to ensure Business and Site objectives are met. Master Planner will have demonstrated practical experience and academic Supply Chain acumen in effort to lead local team and business to achieve objectives. Leverage Supply Chain knowledge and experience to advance the local team’s Supply Chain capability and lead/participate in complex Supply Chain Projects and Problem solving.
In this role one must have tried experience to work in fast pace / complex manufacturing and distribution environments, and demonstrated ability in overcoming challenges. ERP ( SAP ) functioning knowledge / expertise is fundamental to the success of this role. Effective collaboration and problem solving with Demand Planning, Product and Commercial Management, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, and Purchasing is vital to the success of this role.
Responsible for establishing plan to achieve Inventory, Order fulfillment, Operational and financial KPIs. Establish plans to optimize NPI and E&O. Develops actions to reconcile material shortages, excessive backlog or backorder, and other potential scheduling interruptions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Capacity / Production planning for rolling 24 months (equipment and shift capacity) – as well as one network view for total capacity
Responsible for and develops / reports the 24 Month plan across Product Portfolio in support of the SIOP process
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and resolves how to use skill and resources to meet schedules and goals.
Leads Forecasting / Planning data and ERP updates to ensure appropriate signals are accurate to plan.
Leads ERP troubleshooting to ensure plan and system / data integrity
Responsible for establishing plan to optimize / achieve customer service, inventory, logistical, and manufacturing KPIs
Analysis of demand patterns together with demand planning to achieve a smooth production plan
Collaborates with cross functional team to establish Ramp down / Ramp up plan for NPI.
Leads / facilitates collaboration to develop plan to minimize E&O
Drives as culture of continuous improvement to achieve efficient work process ( automation ).
Lead and develop process to ensure inventory health.
Develops / maintains SS, and other Masterdata mass refresh processes.
Develop planning tools and framework to obtain approval from main stakeholders
Actively participates / represents the Site for Supply Chain Project and improvement efforts to improve the Global Business Network
Resolve problems plus enhance improvements associated with inventory flow plus production control.
Establish planning calendar to assure standard updates to Master Production Schedule every month.
Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
Constant communication with main stakeholders from Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, Program Management and Supply Chain pertinent to requirements and impacts.
Supervise and report actual results against Master Production Schedule.
Manges process to avoid aged or stranded inventory
Education:
Minimum : BA/BS degree
Preferred Areas of Study: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering
Qualifications:
Experience in running supply chain and manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency metrics
Experience using MRP / ERP ( SAP ) systems, especially Advance Planning Systems
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
Similar or Related Experience Desired:
5 years in Master Scheduling and Inventory ControlEssential Skills/Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of concepts of inventory and data flow throughout the supply chain.
Strong understanding of concepts of inventory management
Strong problem solving and reasoning skills to effectively deal with problems varying in complexity relative to job level.
Ability to handle complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
Proficient in MS office applications.
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
APICS certification.
Relevant experience in the Life Science or Medical Device industry.
Six Sigma Green / Black Belt Certification
