　　Excet, A Precise Systems Company, seeks a Mass Spectrometrist with expertise in biomarker discovery to support both wet laboratory research efforts and a heavy focus on data processing resulting from proteomic, lipidomic and metabolomic pipelines..

　　All work is performed on-site, in Edgewood, Maryland, 5 days per week

　　Duties:

　　Assist in the tuning and calibration of the mass spectrometers, as needed, to perform research and also to maintain and calibrate instruments.

　　Assist in the operation and maintenance of both high and low flow (nano-flow) ultra/high pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC/HPLC) systems.

　　Assist in the tuning and calibration of the mass spectrometers, as needed, to perform research and also to maintain and calibrate instruments. Additionally, the candidate shall assist in the operation and maintenance of both high and low flow (nano-flow) ultra/high pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC/HPLC) systems.

　　Assist in streamlining all data processing pipelines to include the generation and implementation of custom scripts that facilitate the automatic backup, transfer, processing of data, and the generation of reports

　　Prepare samples and deliver data acquisition using a variety of mass spectrometers

　　Required Education:

　　Must possess a PhD with a research background in mass spectrometry-based biomarker discovery

　　Required Experience:

　　Knowledge and flexibility to analyze large sets of mass spectrometry data for the purpose of biomarker interpretation to include correlative studies between multiple –omics data sets derived from common/split samples. Samples can include, but are not limited to, lysates/extracts generated from human or animal biofluids (e.g. blood, tissue, interstitial fluid), cell culture, or material derived from samples which contain both bacteria and viruses. Samples may also contain ultra-dilute amounts of chemical warfare agents or related threat chemicals.

　　Must have previous experience in Mass Spectrometry

　　Successful candidates should be self-starters that can execute a project independently with minimal oversight

　　Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
