Functional Support Plan:
Create, manage, and execute a plan to ensure that all manufacturing tasks required during a product's life cycle are planned for, scheduled, assigned, and completed.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
Collaborative Management of the NPI schedule with Design and Manufacturing MPOG teams
Ensures that the appropriate inventory is ordered on time and at the appropriate volume to support the Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Master Production Schedule (MPS) schedule. The buying function also includes expediting or de-expediting material as required by the MRP/MPS process and following the escalation process when issues arise.
Work with Buyers to place Purchase orders (POs) from preapproved suppliers, Transfer Orders (TOs) from other Daktronics factories and Work Orders (WO) when scheduling production areas.
Ensure data problems are identified and resolved. Must maintain accurate systems information in support of MPS viability.
Ensure parts are issued and delivered to the right place at the right time.
Engineering Material Change Transition (EMCT)
Manage materials in ramp up and ramp down phase during our New Product Introduction process.
Work with each factory’s materials teams on the disposition of excess and obsolete.
Engineering Change Management
Manage and assign tasks as needed in Windchill.
Work with the Buyer/Planners to determine material effective change dates.
Work with Engineers to determine the impact of engineering change requests.
Support:
Buying/Planning
Aid the factories’ buyer-planners in material availability issues through escalation process(es).
Order MRO type supplies (nonproduction related) at the request of authorized plant personnel.
Sourcing
Assist sourcing as needed to ensure data problems are identified and resolved. Must maintain accurate systems information in support of company operations including part description accuracy and management of Approve Vendor List (AVL) and Approved Manufacturer List (AM) on purchase parts.
Drive the supplier reduction effort within the part commodity and product code groups.
Review the suppliers listed in each group for status of active and inactive.
Identify those items that are purchased through a single supplier and work to source that item with other suppliers in the commodity group to source the item.
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning events.
Coordinate and schedule tasks within Sprints to synchronize with upstream and downstream processes.
Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet Daktronics growth and customer expectations.
Adherence to standard work.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business economics, Mathematics, Operations Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related degree is required.
Manufacturing, procurement, or inventory experience is preferred.
Fluent in English, written and verbal. Foreign language skills a plus. Communicate effectively in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent telephone skills and techniques.
APICS training preferred.
Material/production control experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Computer program experience required includes Glovia and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Power Point), email programs, and internet navigation. Experience with Windchill and DevOps preferred.
Ability to successfully participate and/or lead a team.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to learn quickly.
Able and willing to travel internationally for visits and support activities in the Global Supply chain including factories in remote countries.
Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle record will be checked. Holds valid passport or has ability to obtain valid passport.
Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
