About this Role: The Manufacturing Plant Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the companys manufacturing operations. Primary responsibilities include, managing production processes, ensuring product quality and efficiency, and optimizing resource allocation to meet production targets; leading and mentoring a team of supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Managerial Responsibilities:
Consults with HR on hiring strategies for open roles within the Production departments and makes final hiring decision. Organizes and oversees the schedules, requests for time off and workload of assigned team members. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive in accordance with company review periods. Manages discipline and termination of employees with guidance from Human Resources and in accordance with company policy. Plant Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management of plant supervisors, including oversight of the hiring, training and performance management efforts for all shop personnel. Manage production cells including Shipping & Receiving to support the manufacturing and distribution processes for the organization. Oversee the scheduling of manufactured products, following quality standards and striving for the lowest possible costs with the highest quality. Support production supervisors with the resolution of work and employee issues. Recommend major purchase of materials and equipment. Communicate and plan workflow with applicable managers and supervisors to maximize the companys inventory investments. Collaborate with other departments to drive cost-effective production strategies and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Identify/Report quality problems and work with Quality Teams to initiate action(s) to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product or process and the quality system. Responsible for controlling all shop floor costs (i.e., capital expenditures, absorption, utilization, efficiency rates, etc.). Work cross functionally with multiple teams to ensure compliance to all safety guidelines in all areas of the shop. Follow departmental procedures and work instructions as written. Identify and report quality problems to applicable supervisor. Perform any other task/activity assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the fabrication system. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Sealing Devices Quality System. Responsible for building a collaborative team and highlighting Sealing Devices SCORE Values in daily work activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field required. Proven experience 8 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a large team (100 employees) effectively. In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality requirements and safety standards. Proficiency in using ERP systems, production planning software and MS Office Suite. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Salary range for this role is $110, 000.00 - $115, 000.00.
