Your role: The Manufacturing Operator 1 atMilliporeSigma will produce and purify chemical compounds to meet theneeds of our customers by completing the following tasks on a dailybasis: Produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the requirements ofMilliporeSigma customers Stage materials operating a variety ofwarehouse equipment Basic operation of vessels, tanks, dryers, and otherrelated equipment Perform in-process analytical testing includingwork-ups and simple interpretations as described in the MasterProduction Record Perform distillations, filtrations, and extractions toisolate and purify product Follow and support all safety and qualityprocedures and systems Shift/Hours/Schedule: 2nd shift, 2:00 PM - 10:30PM, Mon - Fri Physical Attributes: Wear an air helmet, respirator mask,safety shoes, rubber apron, chemical protective suits and gloves, safetyglasses and goggles to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals Work inan occasional wet, humid or abnormally hot or cold environment Sit,stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouchfor long periods of time Lift and move 50 pounds Work with and inproximity of hazardous chemicals Use close vision, distance vision,color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjustfocus Use a range of office, laboratory, and manufacturing equipmentWork near moving mechanical parts Who you are: Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: Associate\'s Degreein Chemistry, Biology, or other science discipline Prior industrial workexperience or chemical handling experience Strong mechanical proficiencyMathematical skills Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to read and understand written protocols Understand chemicalreactions and hazards Understand ISO and quality systems What we offer:We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds,perspectives, and life experiences.
