Responsibilities
Weatherford is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in our Huntsville, TX facility. This is a hands on, rewarding role where you will direct and coordinate Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement projects as they relate to a large manufacturing operation.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Manage the timely development of work order process routings for product manufactured in the machine shop, welding & assembly areas by overseeing the daily duties of the manufacturing engineers/specialists.
Manage & direct facility mechanical maintenance operations to provide 95% or better up time on machines .
Mentor new manufacturing engineers/specialists and/or interns in the proper techniques involved and required in manufacturing engineering.
Develop annual budgets for responsible departments.
Manage spending to adhere to the annual budget.
Work with other department managers to develop budget and production plans to meet product line expectations.
Become the facility champion for continuous improvement by being proficient in project management and meeting facilitation.
Participate in and coordinate the implementation of new products into manufacturing through team-based review and approval.
Write programs to pull data from engineering and ERP systems as required for special projects related to the facility and/or other Weatherford facilities.
Develop and coordinate annual CAPEX plans & projects for cost reduction, capacity expansion and safety.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required with a preference for Mechanical or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
5+ years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Have practical experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts including but not limited to Kaizen and 5S.
Experience transacting in or working in an ERP system.
