Position OverviewReporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the ManufacturingEngineer will support the Electronics Assembly Operation as a technicalresource supporting products assembled and/or repaired both internallyand externally at selected partners. This key position requires strongproject management, manufacturing engineering (electronics andmechanical), communication and Lean skills. Position ResponsibilitiesPromote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.Collaborate with New Product Development team on product introductionand sustaining engineering efforts. Work with Supply Chain to identifycritical suppliers and subcontract assemblers for make vs. buy decisionsand BOM management Participate in the S&OP process to ensure assemblyinfrastructure can meet forecasted demand. Be the technical contact forsuppliers and subcontractors of assembled products Map and measure theprocesses to determine opportunities to reduce cycle time and lead timewhile maintaining and improving cost, quality and delivery of AssembledProducts. Establish and maintain aftermarket support processes andprocedures for the repair of mechanical and electronic products Manageimplementation of engineering changes due to design changes, partobsolescence, and process improvement initiatives. RequirementsBachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree is a plusin either business, engineering, or operations. Competent in SolidWorksdesign software. Experience with SolidWorks PDM Workgroup or similarEnterprise Product Data Management system is a plus. 5+ years in amanufacturing engineering role in electronicsassembly/electro-mechanical assembly. Ability to interpret and developcomponent & assembly drawings, assembly instructions, quality & testspecifications, assembly and test fixture concepts, electricalschematics, and other associated documents. Experience with test andevaluation of electronic components including soldering Good written andverbal communication skills. Ability to contribute as part of a team.Lean manufacturing experience required (identification of waste, Kaizen,standard work) Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, usehands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach withhands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to25 pounds.
