DESCRIPTION
Working as a Manufacturing Process Engineer on the forging side of the plant, this individual will be largely focused on ensuring product quality and monitoring machine downtime to make sure they are meeting customer demands with the quality of the product at the forefront. When this person identifies downtime or areas for improvement, they will then work to create solutions to reduce or eliminate the downtime. They will be ensuring processes and equipment are running safely, making continuous improvements on their equipment (presses, robotics, and conveyors are what they will troubleshoot and work on on the forge side of the plant) and processes in order to maintain/exceed production levels. They will also work closely with outside contractors and the maintenance team and other engineers to tackle any issues or projects that arise.
This client as been doing a lot of refurbishing of old equipment, as well as bringing in new equipment the last few years, so there is plenty to do. It is important this individual can balance multiple projects at one time, be organized with their time, and hold others accountable to timelines that need to be hit. This facility has went through quite a bit of change in the last few years, so it is important this person can tackle the challenges they are faced with and be a team player working with many different individuals across various departments in the plant.
MUST HAVES
Minimum 5+ years of automotive industry experience in a process/manufacturing engineering role
Experience utilizing CAD software (Solidworks would be preferred, but any would work)
Bachelors of Science engineering degree
Proficient working within Microsoft Office programs
Experience working with and troubleshooting Robots (preferably Fanuc)
Nice to Have:
Experience working specifically with Solidworks within CAD software
Experience working with CNC machines
