Position Summary

This position involves operating heavy equipment on a paving constructionsite, including, but not limited to, loaders, skid steers,backhoes, pavers and tack trucks.

Responsibilities

Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies andprocedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskOperates a variety of vehicles and heavy construction equipmentPerforms routine inspections and maintenance on equipment; report defectsand repairs to maintenance departmentTake actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utilitylines, other equipment, other workers, and objectsOperates other heavy equipment and other construction related duties asrequired.

Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habitsSelf-motivated and eager to learn new skillsPerform well in a "TEAM" environmentAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyWilling to work hours that are associated to the asphalt industry, includingovertime and weekends as neededAbility to follow verbal and written instruction.Basic mathematical skillsValid driver license is requiredPass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Minimum Education and Experience

1-3 years of experience operating equipment preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate beingexposed to loud noiseAbility to lift 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use ofyour arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing,lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
