JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for thedesign, development, procurement, installation, replacement andmaintenance of necessary production equipment and facilities equipmentrequired to support manufacturing operations. PRINCIPLE DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES Review the performance of existing manufacturingequipment to determine its ability to meet present and futurerequirements. Make specific recommendations as required. Developalternate solutions to assigned projects. Prepare all the detail worknecessary to select and make a recommendation as to the best of thesesolutions. Prepare requirements and specifications of foundations andinstallation of manufacturing equipment. Maintain a close liaison withproduct/ design engineering and others to insure the optimum overallproduct design for most efficient manufacture as well as proper processdesign to maintain product quality. Layout and determine change in sizeof area, location of storage and production areas, location of equipmentfor most efficient product flow and utilization of space and equipment.Design new fixtures and equipment. Modify existing fixtures andequipment in specific areas of responsibility to improve productionefficiency. Develop specifications for new equipment acquisitions andwork closely with sourcing department in obtaining and evaluatingproposals and selecting suppliers. Works closely with maintenance andshop employees on engineering design modifications to existing equipmentand facilities and coordinates implementation of these changes. Design,modify, coordinate, install, and debug plant electrical, water, gas,sewage, oil, air, industrial gases, heating, air conditioning,production processes and material handling equipment as they relate tomanufacturing operations. Report regularly and communicate tostakeholders on progress of assigned projects. Keep detailed cost dataon projects. Make recommendations of action required insuring projectcompletion as scheduled. Demonstrate creative ability through theinitiation of cost improvement recommendations and patent disclosures.Coordinate the training of employees on the operation of new equipment.Develop and maintain a sound general product knowledge and more specificproduct knowledge relating to application and manufacturing processes.Effectively support supervision and shop operators with day-to-dayproduction challenges with a focus on product quality and scheduleattainment.
