  PURPOSE

  This position is responsible for the successful execution of all events held at the Performing Arts Center. This is a position that requires specific knowledge of technical equipment and cannot be done by anyone else in this unit.

  RESPONSIBILITIES

  Main point of contact for technical assistance with lights, sound, and staging requirements for a multi-purpose Performing Arts Center to include setting and striking all furniture and equipment needed to facilitate rehearsals, concerts, meetings, and all other events (i.e. stage setups/tear-downs, lobby setups, greenroom, to include chairs, tables, stands, risers, pipe & drape, etc.) to serve the daily needs of the event requirements including changing light bulbs in fixtures and maintenance and recommending replacement of equipment.

  Handle ETC Paradigm Architectural lighting systems and boards. Use lighting instruments in a creative way to enhance productions. Handle Digital Sound Processor (DSP) system and oversee sound boards and troubleshoot sound system and lighting system issues. Set up and places microphones, cabling, mixing, balancing, monitors, troubleshooting, and handles maintenance of equipment. Operate a variety of production equipment such as lighting controls, projectors, amplifiers, speakers and compact disc, DVD; proficient with computer presentations projection and sound using QLAB.

  Assist Facility and Operations Manager and Operations Coordinator with client meetings to determine technical needs of their events and facilitates those needs with the highest degree of professionalism and expertise. Work with performing artists from all genres (i.e. symphony orchestras, theatrical productions, solo musicians, famous touring acts, university students and ensemble directors, etc.).

  Point of contact for technical advance calls to road managers of touring companies and communicating those needs to the technical staff. Supervise assigned stage labor and technical training contact for PAC Student Technical Assistants involved in technical setups, rigging, and running of technical equipment.

  Communicate effectively and calmly as a team-player and works within a team environment.

  Perform other duties as assigned.

  WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  Bachelor’s Degree.

  Five (5) years related experience.

  Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  SALARY: $50,000/annually, approximately.

  $4,166.67/monthly.
