As the Technical Accounting Manager, you will serve as a U.S. GAAP subject matter expert focusing on the accounting and reporting ramifications of draft and final accounting pronouncements or proposed transactions. You will initiate, monitor and drive progress on the research and resolution of technical accounting issues by working closely with key stakeholders/senior leadership, finance and accounting team members.
You will develop and lead the implementation of accounting policies, new accounting standards and act as liaison with external auditors to ensure timely sign-off of technical accounting matters. You will also monitor and communicate the status of emerging accounting guidance and its potential impact to the company. You will oversee the preparation of all technical accounting memos including stock compensation, business combinations, new commercial contracts, non-standard vendor contracts, derivative contracts, and finance restructuring transactions.
To thrive in this role, you will need to have proven experience successfully researching and resolving technical accounting issues and translating this information into clear, concise written communication. You should also work well independently as you drive key projects forward. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related discipline and CPA license is required for this role. This is a remote role working on either Central or Eastern time.
Here’s what you can expect:
Be accountable for the company’s accounting issues resolution process, including identifying, tracking, researching, documenting, and implementing technical accounting and presentation matters.
Oversee accounting and disclosure knowledge management, including preparing and presenting periodic educational programs and materials for Audit Committee meetings.
Liaises with the Assistant Controller – External Reporting and Technical Accounting and members of the Senior Leadership Team to share insights on technical accounting requirements in a way that is easily understood.
Contributes to the external financial reporting through review of draft 10-Q / 10-K / Other SEC filings.
Occasional travel may be required.
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $81,600.00 - $130,586.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
