Be Customer Obsessed Be Courageous with Your Point of View Challenge the Status Quo Act Like an Entrepreneur Have an “It Can Be Done” Attitude Do the Right Thing Be Accountable Each principle has a defined set of behaviors which help guide the 7-Eleven team to Serve Customers and Support Stores. ▶ About This Opportunity Responsibilities Fuels Pricing at 7-Eleven consists of developing and supporting combination of applications that enable the Pricing Analysts to propose and push new prices to more than 8,500+ Fuel locations across US & Canada. Fuel Prices are dynamic and time sensitive. Generating new prices that are optimal and tailored for each specific location for the given time and pushing those prices to the Stores are critical for the business. Getting these prices implemented at the Stores in a timely fashion is of critical importance for 7-Eleven to be competitive in the industry. The Fuels Pricing IT team works closely with Business and Pricing Analysts to make sure the applications that support these business functions are responding to the needs in an efficient manner. Fuels Pricing application suite includes home grown solutions as well as third party products that work in tandem. As an Engineering Manager, you are joining a multidisciplinary team of engineers who create fuel pricing products that sends near real time pricing to more than 8500+ stores across US & Canada. We are seeking a creative, hands-on, talented engineer to be a member of the 7-Eleven Global platform development team. As an Engineering Manager, your primary focus will be, Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed micro-services, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet 7-Eleven fuel pricing systems needs for the company. Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering team, and be hands on with code and perform code reviews and evaluate code. Collaborate with product owners and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help fuel pricing analysts and business to perform their day-to-day work in an efficient manner. Must be strong in technologies JavaScript, NodeJS, Type Script, ReactJS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Open-Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services. Work closely with Product Management, QA and UI/UX team to define and develop user experiences and features. Manage and grow engineering teams, projects, performance, and career growth of engineers. Communicate roadmaps with the team, leaders, and stakeholders. Partner with various teams to determine scope and estimate development effort. Lead systems design, architecture, and scaling discussions. Experience in conflict resolution. Analysis and in detail solution design for Enterprise-grade applications Develop solutions in an agile/scrum development environment. Hands-on experience in data modelling, querying and managing MongoDB. Ability to manage workload to meet the delivery quality and deadlines. Qualifications Education and Experience: Education: Bachelors/4 yr degree Years of Relevant Work Experience: 10+ Years of Management Experience: 3+ Certifications/Licences: Azure/AWS Certifications, Scaled Agile Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience with development and designing applications using JAVA Spring, Node.js, React or Angular. 6+ years of experience developing with large microservice-based architectures, container orchestration frameworks: Kubernetes/Azure EKS. 6+ years of experience in relational or non-relational database management systems like PostgreSQL, MS SQL, MongoDB. 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers. Understanding of MVC / MVVM / MVP structure and development patterns. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Experience in partnering with product and program management teams. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience building applications using Java Spring and/or Python. Experience working in Cloud platforms either AWS, Azure or GCP Familiarity with modern build pipelines and CI/CD tools like Jenkins Familiarity with code versioning Git (Gitlab). Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.
