Under the direction of the Regional Security Manager and Vice President of Security, the Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the NTT Data Center physical infrastructure, equipment, and personnel. The Security Manager will work closely with the Data Center Operations Team (DCOPS) to ensure that security measures are in place and functioning properly. Additionally, the Security Manager will manage a team of Security Site Supervisors who oversee the day-to-day operations of NTT GDC Americas Data Center(s).
The Security Manager assists in the coordination, supervision, evaluation, and training of Security Site Supervisors and their assigned workforce. The Security Manager responds to emergency incidents and provides guidance, direction, and support to Site Supervisors to successfully mitigate emergency incidents. This role assists with providing direction on data center operations, Security programs, protocols, policies, and regulations; this includes assuring the safety and welfare of employees, customers, and contractors while on company grounds.
Overall, an individual in this role will be responsible for the safety and security of corporate facilities, property, and people in compliance with applicable federal, state, local rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Bringing firsthand experience, the Security Manager is an important contributor to the development and implementation of programs designed to increase safety for employees and clients.
The role requires individuals to work flexible hours, as needed to provide direction to department staff and collaborate with law enforcement agencies. Regular, predictable, on-site, attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the day-to-day security operations of the data center, including physical security, access control, video surveillance and alarm monitoring.
Supervises and coordinates Security Site Supervisors and personnel to ensure operations are running efficiently, providing support, training and development of personnel.
Manage a staff of Site Supervisors, including their downline of Security Officers and Shipping and Receiving associates; responsibilities include interviewing candidates, planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel and managing corrective actions.
Collaborate with Site Supervisors to identify and resolve workforce gaps to ensure adequate coverage at each data center site.
Provide Site Supervision support to overall Security Department personnel, as needed, when there is shortage of staff or when the site does not have a direct Site Supervisor assigned.
Respond to emergency calls on weekends and after regular working hours.
Partner with Site Supervisors to evaluate Security Officers.
Conduct regular performance evaluations of Site Supervisors to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities and are adhering to established policies and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential threats to NTT GDC Americas Data Centers.
Administer and monitor all onsite security operations to assure safety standards are met at of NTT GDC Americas data centers; this includes the safety of personnel, visitors, and customers, as well as protecting company property from unauthorized access, sabotage, vandalism or theft.
Perform regular security audits and inspections to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Execute security awareness training to data center personnel; coordinate training logistics and provide feedback to talent development to maintain relevant curriculum of security training programs.
Liaise with the Data Center Operations Team, Facilities, and other departments to ensure security measures do not impact the availability or performance of critical date center systems.
Investigate security incidents and breaches to develop and implement corrective actions to prevent further incidents.
Review and approve incident reports.
Leads / Assists with internal investigations (situational, theft, employee, etc.) and prepares written reports on details of investigation, recommended actions, and outcomes.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and customers to promote a culture of security and compliance.
Manage the budget for data center security operations, including staffing, equipment, and services.
Supports the Regional Security Manager and Vice President of Security with determining headcount allocation and scheduling
Provide additional security and protection to Executive staff and / or at special company events.
Ensure that all required security manuals are updated and maintained.
Serves as the primary contact for local and federal law enforcement agencies in all matters related to search warrants, suspected criminal activity, or investigations.
Serves as the primary contact for emergency management departments.
Interacts with clients on their security requirements; communicates concerns with Senior Management.
Works with all departments in the security engineering of all sites for exterior and interior security design.
Administers the operation of all security related systems: access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc., shipping & receiving related items ie, client notifications, etc.
Reviews utilization and maintenance of security equipment.
Serves as a liaison with all vendors related to security.
Oversees research in regard to security products, receiving equipment, examines price. comparisons, and produces recommendations and reports to executive management for approval.
Responsible for preparation and review of periodic security reports to Clients and NTT GDC Americas employees.
Organizes and takes predetermined actions, including rendering first aid in emergencies, such as work-related accidents, fire, and illness.
Supports and administers the necessary policies and procedures to sustain executive and company vision and direction.
Recommends methods to improve security, shipping and receiving, and or correct ownership.
Model NTT GDC Americas Grooming and Uniform Standards, as well as ensure all Security personnel follow the same guidelines while on shift.
May perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledgeable with standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used in security profession.
Understanding of physical security technologies such as access control, CCTV, digital video surveillance and recording, intrusion detection, and photo badging.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, and HIPPA
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage security operations in a high-stress environment.
Proficient in computer skills such as Microsoft Office, database management, and security related software.
Knowledge of OSHA and safety rules.
Basic knowledge of the Data Center Security Best Practices, preferred.

What will make you a good fit for the role?
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as security management, criminal justice, or a related discipline, is preferred. Associate’s degree in a related field plus relevant experience, or five (5) years of experience related to safety and security as acquired from any combination of: law enforcement, military police or security forces (verified by DD-214) with a focus on data center security, are acceptable.
Experience must include a minimum of 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
Experience should include conducting investigations and report writing.
Shipping & Receiving experience is a plus.
OSHA certified, is a bonus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility
Remain stationary for long periods of time.
Prolonged upright position for varied number of hours during shift.
Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform. Regularly move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Travel between company sites on a regular basis (up to 25% of the time).
Exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors.
Exposure to hazardous work environments.
Work onsite at a Data Center environment, with varying temperatures and loud noises.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support, as needed to support onsite staff and business requirements.
This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $88,000 - $110,000.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
