WPIX is looking for a dynamic individual who can work with all Station departments to ensure efficient scheduling of Engineering and Operations personnel and facilities. Responsible for planning, supervising, implementing all WPIX facility systems including: HVAC, Fire Safety and Life Safety.

　　DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Oversees preparation of weekly work schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency and appropriate manpower assignments, and in accordance with union contracts.

　　Manages HVAC and Fire Safety service contracts, including scheduling inspections and facilitating repairs.

　　Provides central contact for scheduling of all WPIX broadcast facilities, including the Production Studio and Satellite Facilities.

　　Provides a central point of contact and oversight for office service requests such as cleaning, duplication, porter service, trade support and other building services. Act as the primary liaison between WPIX and building management. Reviews building charges to insure that all billed activities are consistent with WPIX requests. Ensure all vendors performing work at our facility provide Certificate of Insurance that meet or exceed the building’s requirements.

　　Reviews weekly time sheets to insure conformance with the posted schedule. Negotiates large scale company supply orders for high use items such as copier paper and toner cartridges.

　　Manages small to medium facility improvement projects as required.

　　Conducts regular analysis of manpower patterns including overtime, illness, lateness, training and assignment.

　　REQUIREMENTS:

　　5years of management or supervisory experience in television operations.

　　Familiar with collective bargaining agreements and scheduling requirements.

　　Detail oriented and excellent Computer and mathematics skills.

　　Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

　　Education

　　Bachelor Degree preferred.

　　Physical

　　High visual and aural acuity along with data entry using a keyboard.

　　Must be able to lift packages / boxes up to 75lbs.

　　Ability to work under deadline and time constraints.

　　COMPLEXITY

　　Requires efficient management of assignments for over 30 employees represented by a Union. Must be able to contrast and compare multiple staffing scenarios to arrive at the most cost-effective solution. Must be capable of analyzing large scale purchase agreements and service agreements to select the least cost alternative.

　　IMPACT OF DECISIONS

　　Efficient scheduling of manpower directly affects payroll costs and translates to the company bottom line. Accurate tracking and documentation of manpower trends is critical for long term planning and budgeting activities.

　　WORK RELATIONSHIP

　　Internal: Constant and direct contact with key members of all departments. Communication with all staff members on the operational schedule.

　　External: Direct contact with outside sales representatives. Supervision of trade contractors. Daily contact with News Building Management representatives.

　　Salary Range: 100k-110k
