Summary
Spire is seeking a Manager, Residential Sales to work in Spire’s Southeast Region, located in Alabama. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a statewide plan for growth and retention, both new meters and contribution margin, in Spire’s residential sector. This position owns Spire’s relationships with key industry allies supporting that market. The Residential Sales Manager will focus on providing the necessary resources and training to a group of skilled business development representatives serving Spire’s residential customers, HVAC / Plumbing partners, and homebuilders. The manager guides them in capturing new opportunities for growth, while retaining current levels of market share within those market channels.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and implements statewide plan for new meter growth and retention in the residential channels.
Manages statewide team of residential business development representatives to provide project management of new business projects, ensuring coordination across multiple Spire departments to ensure timely and accurate construction that meets needs of customers.
Manages the opportunity pipeline by leading the team in surveying job sites, negotiating, upselling and ensuring compliance with contracts.
Manages process for lead generation, management of pipeline of new business projects, and account management.
Prepares and reviews proposals for new business projects using economic model as established by regulatory to optimize new meter growth.
Assists legal team with preparation of natural gas pipeline extension agreements.
Ensures new business projects are tracked and reported on using Spire-wide CRM system.
Coordinates customer engagements including trade shows, conferences and other events to build and maintain relationships with members of the residential building industry.
Develops skilled sales professionals that aggressively pursue and confidently win sales opportunities.
Monitors market trends and building forecasts to direct and plan expansion of the distribution system.
Prepares and manages annual O&M budget.

Ability to understand and communicate Spire’s rate structure in all geographies of responsibility.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises Business Development Representatives Required Education (certifications, licenses)
Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of progressive utility experience with emphasis on customer-facing responsibilities, or any combination of education and experience that allows candidate to meet needs of position.
Experience leading remote, geographically disparate workforce.
Required knowledge, skill and abilities

Physical demands, environment and schedule
Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
Typically, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required to meet strict deadlines.
Occasional travel may be required.
